Centre Update.....
Contact Activity - Parent Information Programme (PIP)
This new programme has been introduced to enable Cafcass FCA or the courts to refer families they feel will potentially benefit from the PIP training. WLCCC have now become an approved provider. This will involve meetings between parents and WLCCC to increase parents knowledge about the impact of divorce/ seperation on children.
Also to introduce the importance of the parents role in the children's adjustment to divorce/ seperation. Helping to decrease the conflict between parents for the well being of the children and to promote changes in parent behaviour, by increasing communication skills and more effective interactions.
Objectives are to help course members understand that the are not alone in their experiences and to consider key ideas that can make a difference in how their children respond to divorce/ seperation. To identify their own strengths and qualities as parents and to recognise their own emotional responses. (Children & Adoption Act 2006)
Coming in 2010...... WLCCC are looking forward to introducing a full time Family Mediation Service.
